THE AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR [Blu-ray]

With The Avengers: Endgame just days away, I decided to go back and rewatch The Avengers: Infinity War (2018). If you remember, The Avengers: Infinity War features an ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Josh Brolin, and Chris Pratt.

In essence, the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy attempt to stop Thanos from amassing the all-powerful Infinity Stones. THANOS wants to reduce the population of the Galaxy by 50% and uses the power of the Infinity stones to achieve his goal. Now, in The Avengers: Endgame we’ll see how the post-THANOS world looks…and if Captain Marvel can help save the day! Are you excited about The Avengers: Endgame? Are you going to see it? We have our tickets!

Well, if you watched part one (which, essentially, it was) how can you not see part two? Since I think everyone agrees there is no way the ending can stand as is – Loki, for crying out loud! – I guess we are in for a reversal, big time. I’m curious to see where the Marvel universe goes next, once this cycle is over.

    Have a safe trip home!

Jeff, I’m sure some Time Travel tricks with a dash of Captain Marvel show up on Friday when we see THE AVENGERS: ENDGAME.

Of course, just as I packed the Rogue for the drive back home…it started to rain. Bummer.

At some point during one of those relentlessly long Batman movies, or maybe it was Iron Man, I realized that my interest in this stuff was just gone. Since then I haven’t seen a single superhero or comic book movie, and have no desire to. So no Avengers, no DC Universe, no Marvel Universe. Characters without superhuman powers are a lot more interesting.

Michael, I’m not at that point yet. I still enjoy the CGI magic and the compelling characters that I grew up reading about in comic books.

I have to agree with Michael , saw some superhero films on tv and was so bored.
      PS:
The last one we tried to watch was Avatar – but my wife (who’s a big SF&Fantasy fan) started laughing almost hysterically seeing all that kitsch … 🙂
Now she’s waiting for GOT – in Hungarian of course, she’s a big fan of the series and of course GRRM in general.
      But superheroes?

Well…some superhero films and tv series are much better than others…the Christopher Nolan Batman films are interminable bores, even with good casts. The GOTHAM tv series is better, but by no means perfect. Yes, AVATAR is unwatchable kitsch, but GOT invariably has put me to sleep whenever I try it. Mostly enjoyed the last two hero films I saw in a theater, WONDER WOMAN and ATOMIC BLONDE, and neither of them was close to perfection…ah, well. Will catch both the current Captain Marvel films, the Fawcett/DC and the Marvel, on cable soon enough…iZOMBIE is my favorite comics-derived a/v at the moment, and I await its return…
