THE DARK KNIGHT RISES in IMAX

Last week, I saw The Dark Knight Rises in a local Regal Theater. This week I saw The Dark Knight Rises at our local IMAX. From the NY TIMES article it’s clear that this new Batman movie makes the most use of IMAX cameras ever.  Yes, there’s plenty of extra footage in this IMAX version.  The scene where the football stadium implodes is worth the price of admission!  If you’re a Batman fan, or if you’re curious about where the IMAX technology is headed, you need to check out The Dark Knight Rises in IMAX format.  You won’t be sorry!

A long way to get to one from here I think. I guess I don’t get the difference between 3-D and IMAX. I will have to look that up.

IMAX shows the movie on a screen 10 times as large as an average movie screen, Patti. And the camera resolution is much higher. You need to try IMAX out. I think you’ll love it!

After seeing all three Christopher Nolan BATMAN movies, Jeff, I’m impressed by his vision and his skill at story-telling. I’ve found all of Nolan’s movies a little too convoluted and a tad too long, but those are just minor quibbles. These trilogy will set the standard for the next 20 years.

My brother saw the first showing of the Dark Knight Rises with his friends and we were both going to watch it the next day; however, after hearing about the tragedy in Colorado I haven’t been able to go. I am not concerned about copycat attacks (I know that the risk of something like that is minimal). I just don’t feel like I could enjoy the movie at this time because I associate it with the suffering of dozens of people in that theater plus all of their family and friends. I know that I am probably being overly emotional, but that is not necessarily a bad thing to be.

Christian Bale visited the victims of the Aurora shooting, Lauren. Everyone will react to the the incident differently. Perhaps you’ll be able to watch THE DARK KNIGHT RISES when it’s released on Blu-ray.
