You’d think he’s the first rookie QB to ever do well in the NFL, which is very, very far from the case. Expect the Broncos to get trompled by New England today. Meanwhile, I’m rooting for the ‘Niners against the Saints, though I don’t think that will happen. That one starts in just a couple of hours…

Part of the Tim Tebow story is how improbable some of his wins with the Broncos turned out to be, Rick. Not many people were choosing the Broncos to beat the Steelers last weekend.

The Saints are unbeatable at home, but a vastly different team on the road, Jeff. Art Scott’s 49ers may pull an upset. Conversely, the Giants seem to play better on the road. They could surprise the Packers.

I thought Tebow was soso much of the season but he was great last week against the Steelers. I’m definitely worried about the Saints being out of their element.

And speaking of Tebow songs, check this out.

I’m writing this at half time and the Denver Tebows are getting creamed. I have nothing against the young man, just tired of hearing about him. As Rick mentioned, he’s not the first rookie to do well. A lot of his “good fortune” is ineptitude on the other team’s part(think Chicago Bears). It’s given rise to all sorts of BS because of his religious convictions, as if God gives a whoop about a football game.

The 45-10 blow-out will satisfy both the Patriot fans and the Tebow non-fans, Randy. It was a great run for the Broncos, but Reality had to rear its ugly head.

George, not the ending one had hoped for, but I’m feeling pretty optimistic about the future of Tebow and the Broncos. Only nine months away from the start of the 2012 season!

    Look out, doubters…

No one thought the Broncos would be in the playoffs, Drongo. And Tebow’s doubters have to respect what he’s accomplished despite them.

Tebow has been fascinating this year in large part because so many people have gotten up in arms because he is open about his beliefs and also because he is truly not (yet, or maybe ever) a prototypical quarterback and it was comical to see so many pundits baffled week after week after week when he would pull out wins. I live in Kansas City so am not a Bronco fan, but Tebow made for good theater and so I was rooting for him all the way up to this weekend. I’ve liked the Patriots since back when Bledsoe was there so I was rooting for Brady and Co, but I wish Tebow could have at least had a decent showing last night. But when Brady is on, he is a monster!

We Buffalo Bills fans have suffered at the hands of Brady and the Patriots for over a decade, Carl. Sadly, Tebow and the Broncos were out-classed by the Brady Bunch. I admire Tebow for his positive attitude and his grit.

Oh, and I am NOT a fan of the Niners and was so disappointed to see them advance. All the Saints D had to do was cover one guy and yet they inexplicably kept putting on d-back on him who got burned every time. A coaching staff who stubbornly sticks to something that isn’t working deserves to lose, so kudos to the Niners for taking advantage of the secondary and the play calling.

Now that all the shouting – and playing football – is over for the weekend, it looks to be ‘Niners at home against Giants. I’ll call that one for the Forty-Niners. I don’t think the Giants can be that good 3 weeks in a row, nor do I expect the 49ers to drop so many passes. The Packers set a game record for dropped passes, it was unbelievable. I’d been predicting a Packers-Patriots Super Bowl for the last 2 months, but now I’ll call it Forty-Niners-Patriots. I don’t like the Ravens, so I hope they get whupped.

The Patriots have their problems with the Ravens, Rick. It’s not the ideal matchup for the Brady Bunch. The Giants are the hot team right now. The Niners may have their hands full on Sunday.

That is the same thing they said about the Giants the last time they worked through the playoffs and won the Superbowl, Richard. I certainly wouldn’t count them out just yet. I also wouldn’t count out the Ravens though I hope that they don’t win. I wanted to see a Saints/Patriots or a Packers/Patriots Superbowl mostly because I am a fan of lots of scoring. Then again both teams were so inept this weekend with dropped passes and turnovers that they deserved to lose so I can’t feel too bad about the results.

The Giants caused a lot of “experts” who picked Green Bay to win another Super Bowl to look very bad, Carl. Can history repeat itself and the Giants go on to win a Super Bowl when everyone counted them out…like in 2007?

It is certainly possible. You’ve got a team gelling at the optimum moment in time and they are loaded with confidence and very healthy too. Although they could be out of it next week, they do have that ‘team of destiny’ smell to them, don’t they?
