Benedict Cumberbatch Reads Sherlock Holmes’ Rediscovered Railway Stories: Four Original Short Stories By John Taylor [Audible Audiobook]

Benedict Cumberbatch reads these four new Sherlock Holmes stories by John Taylor: “An Inscrutable Masquerade,” “The Conundrum of Coach 13,” “The Trinity Vicarage Larceny,” and “The 10.59 Assassin.”

I find Benedict Cumberbatch a convincing narrator. I have some audio versions of RUMPOLE stories that Cumberbatch narrated expertly, too. Do you enjoy audio books? GRADE: A

As mentioned previously, I never listen to them. I do think the narrator is all-important, as a good one can make a book, while a bad one can kill it. My problem is, I have to pay careful attention, and if you nod out (mentally) for a minute you might miss something important. I prefer music in the background while reading a book. That said, Cumberbatch is a good choice.

      Jeff, same here!
Especially now as an older person concentrating and listening gets difficult for me, I prefer physical books or e-books.
My wife btw is a really big fan of e-books too. Her son gets so many on the net for her to choose from …

I do like them but Jeff mentions a real problem. You mind is much more likely to drift off listening than reading. And it is not always easy to figure out where you drifted.

I love audio books, and always have one in my car. I get them from the library mostly, and was on my last one when the library finally opened.

I think cumberbatch would be a great reader. The reader can really help or hurt the appreciation for the book.

The one narrator that ruined so many books for me was Barbara Rosenblat She did eliz. peters and swallowed the ends of many many words. At the Philly Bcon, Lisa Scottoline came by and I had just finished one of her books that Kate Burton had read (wonderfully) I was raving about it and she then introduced me to Rosenblat. I kept my mouth shut
