BUFFALO BILLS VS. MINNESOTA VIKINGS

The Buffalo Bills are 16-point underdogs to the Minnesota Vikings. At Half-time last week, cornerback Vontae Davis “retired” and left his teammates and coaches in the lurch as he showered, dressed, and left New Era Stadium midway through the game with the L.A. Chargers (the Bills lost 31-20).

In addition, former Buffalo Bills wide receiver, Jordon Matthews, spoke to the media about in an illuminating expose of his season in playing in Buffalo: https://deadspin.com/ex-bills-wr-there-s-nothing-to-do-in-buffalo-but-fuck-1829180016

This Bills season has turned into a circus! How is your favorite NFL team doing so far?

Great! Not. The Giants, along with the Bills and Lions, are among the seven teams at 0-2. At least one will be off the list tonight, as the Giants play in Houston. I’m pretty sure Giants’ fans won’t be celebrating.

sorry, much as I’d like to root for the bills then, can’t abandon my pack. I hope things get better for them, especially after that stunt by v.d. last week

Maggie, I think the 2018 Buffalo Bills team is a troubled group. The mother of LeSean McCoy’s son is accusing the Bills running back of child abuse. It just goes on and on…

So you’re saying if Davis hadn’t walked, the Bills would have won? Though it was a crap move, I doubt it made a difference in the outcome of the game.

The Seahawks play Dallas in their home opener, but I don’t have a lot of hope. After the Oregon-Stanford gave last night, I may not watch ANY football for a while. Besides, I have 5 library books here and another ready for pickup by Wednesday. Also, there’s yard work to do.

According to the weather people, we were supposed to get a big rainstorm yesterday. It misted slightly. We may, in the last week of September, have to run the sprinklers. We expected Nature to water in our plantings. No such luck. No rain in the forecast for the next week.

Rick, today in the NEW YORK TIMES Sports Section, the snarky NYT sports reporters wrote, “The biggest problem with cornerback Vontae Davis’s retirement at halftime last week is now the team’s other players know that is an option.”

I think even I at the height of my Disco Dolly stage (late 1970s) could have found SOMETHING to do in Buffalo that didn’t require being horizontal…but, then again, I’ve always been a gal who liked a challenge!

The 1-1 Saints journey to Atlanta to take on division rival Falcons. So far the Saints have failed to impress—last week’s win over the Browns was more pitiful than their 48-40 loss to the Bucs. Their defense is like Swiss cheese and the offense doesn’t seem to be able to get anything started. I Susie y we’re in for a long season. Sigh!

Deb, I’m sure the Buffalo Bills would love to have the Saints Defense instead of the sieve they now have giving up 28 points in the First Half last week against the L. A. Chargers.

Well, Eli had his best game in a long, long time – 25 for 29, 297 yards, and the Giants handled the Texans (now 0-3). Next week, the Saints. So far, the Giants defense has been very good.

Jeff, I’m still in shock! I didn’t bet the Bills this week. But I might bet them next week when they play the Packers! Congratulations on the Giants win!
