The 4-1 Buffalo Bills are enjoying a much needed BYE WEEK. How will your favorite NFL perform today?

I keep telling you, George, those pictures are meant to be private!
Our surprisingly good, albeit Drew-Brees-less, Saints (4-1) journey to Jacksonville to take on the 2-3 Jaguars. Some say the Jags are better than their losing record indicates, so I hope Teddy Bridgewater and the rest of the black-and-gold crew are prepared to bring their A-game. Yesterday, LSU had a nice win over Florida, so the Saints need to continue to represent the Pelican state.
Deb, as you might recall, Jeff Meyerson and I live in the heart of Yankees country. Right now, just about everyone around here is wearing Yankees garb. Even GEICO has a TV commercial with a kid Trick-or-Treating as a Yankee. You’re right to be concerned about the Jags. They’re a Jekyll and Hyde team. Who knows which one will show up today? Congratulations on all the other wins by your teams!
Deb, I thought the Astros would win the World Series this year. But the Rays messed up their pitching rotation so the Yankees may slip by the Astros to take on…the Nationals!
Jeff Meyerson
I guess it wasn’t pretty, but the Saints pulled it out to go to 5-1. The pathetic Jets host the Cowboys at 4:25. In the Winless Bowl, the Redskins lead the Dolphins by 7.
Like Deb, “our” local team, Oregon, won, and I’m hoping that the Seahawks can beat the Browns in Cleveland today. The Browns are kind of a mystery, lots of talent, but they haven’t pulled it together yet. Hopefully this isn’t the day they do.
Being a Dodgers fan, I was hoping Houston would whip the Yanks, but… However, we’re not watching baseball any more. Maybe a St. Louis vs. Houston Series, but that’s only a maybe.
The Giants are licking their wounds after Thursday’s loss in New England.
The Yankees? Yay! So far, so good. I often tell people that, as a geezer, the Yankees were in the World Series 14 times before I turned 16 (winning 9). I’ve been a fan for over 60 years and survived the George Steinbrenner revolving door of managers, coaches and GMs. It’s been 10 years since they made (and won) the World Series, but this amazingly resilient team has been a very pleasant surprise, the best team since the amazing 114 win season of 1998. If they can get by Houston (big if, with Verlander and Cole up next) they can beat the Nationals.
Teams I am least likely to root for: Red Sox, Dodgers, Cardinals, so again, so far, so good.

That Astros game though….

I am a Yankees fan…when they’re not playing the Astros.

Meanwhile, I need to get reading!
Rick, I’m getting a lot of reading done during these baseball games.
You can do both, I’m an either-read-or-watch guy.

Jeff, Yankee fever is all over Western NY. Everyone seems to be wearing a Yankee cap and Yankee gear!
and it seemed a lot of those were against the Dodgers…
I’m rooting for a Nats/Yanks World Series! The Seahawks staged a couple of rallies to beat the Browns 34-28!
Bob, the Seahawks looked great against the Browns! I’ll be watching the Yankee game tonight.
