H.P. LOVECRAFT’S THE CALL OF CTHULHU (for beginning readers) By R. J. Ivankovic

R. J. Ivankovic presents the cosmic horror of Cthulhu for young people (and those young at heart) in his entertaining H. P. Lovecraft’s The Call of Cthulhu (for beginning readers) (2017). Mimicking Dr. Seuss, Ivankovic imitates the drawing style and the rimes of those classic children’s books like The Cat in the Hat. Ivankovic follows the iconic Lovecraft story and manages to infuse the pages of his innovative book with dread.

I found the whole experience of reading H. P. Lovecraft’s The Call of Cthulhu (for beginning readers) entertaining and fun! Are you a fan of Lovecraft and Cthulhu? GRADE: A

I’m so old I actually went to school with Cthulu.

Mind you, Cthulu was an upperclassman and captajn of the football team, while I was just a freshman, so we didn’t mix at all, but I recall he was the Big Thing on Campus in those days.

I like Lovecraft in small doses. Although my favorite Lovecraft is his longest story, At the Mountains of Madness. I won’t be reading this.

Calling Rick Robinson! Your book is ready.

It has amazed me in recent years seeing how many Lovecraft spinoffs and clones that are being published. This is. I would guess, not really aimed at kids. Sounds fun.

Jeff, H.P. LOVECRAFT’S THE CALL OF CTHULHU (for beginning readers) is a hoot! Very clever in a demonic way. Like Sherlock Holmes pastiches, CTHULHU pastiches continue to find an audience and sell well.

Never liked Lovecraft – just like most Fantasy stuff, don’t know why …
    Maybe because I’m a mathematician?
My wife however loves GOT and other Fantasy stuff, Lovecraft hasn’t been translated into Hungarian afaik – at least not during Communist times when she read incessantly …

Wolf, there are SF elements to Lovecraft’s stories. You might enjoy Lovecraft’s “The Hounds of Tindalos” which involves some weird geometry. The story is easily available online.

Beth, THE GREAT SF STORIES series is excellent. But, sadly, today they’re hard to find in used bookstores. And they’re expensive online.
