    Congratulations!

    On a lighter side:
Did you marry just before year’s end because of the tax benefits or was this supposed to be a kind of late Christmas present?

Wolf, getting married on December 29 was planned because Diane’s church decorates astonishingly for this time of the year. We have some very colorful marriage photos of all the garland and lights and evergreens as a background to Diane in her wedding gown and me in my tuxedo.

Congratulations–although I know this must be a bittersweet anniversary being so close to your mother-in-law’s passing. Still, I hope you have plans that will include going somewhere you both enjoy.

Deb, I’ll be taking Diane out to her favorite restaurant tonight. But having Helen’s memorial service on our Anniversary makes things difficult.

A lovely couple indeed. Hope you are able to enjoy yourselves a little.
I sent yesterday’s post to a friend whose mother is dying under similar circumstances at age 96 in Boston. She said it gave her sustenance to know someone else was going through the same thing.

Patti, thanks for sending my post to your friend. Care-givers need support as the process gets into the Final Stages. A memorial service and an Anniversary dinner make strange bed-fellows.

Happy Anniversary! You’re still 8 years behind us. Any chance of a wedding photo?

Jackie was worried Diane would have to cook dinner tonight (as on Mothers Day) but glad to see her fears were misplaced. Have a great time.

Jeff, I want to get Diane out of the house as much as possible the next few days. Dinner at her favorite restaurant for our Anniversary is just the beginning!

    Congratulations, you two crazy kids!

Glad to hear you’re taking Diane out. I agree with Deb – a bittersweet anniversary. Next year will be better.

Congratulations. Longevity in a marriage takes a lot of work and love. Have a great time at dinner. Hope there’s chocolate of some kind for dessert.

Maggie, thanks for your kind words! Diane usually orders the Chocolate Lava Cake for dessert. I usually go with the Coconut Cream Pie. Yum!

I just got back from Tankon so I’ve been out of the loop. Congrats on the anniversary. Pig out, for next year you’ll be dieting.

Lauren, I’m optimistic about 2016! Classes start in a couple of weeks and I’m getting excited about the prospect of teaching a new group of students!
