Jeff, thanks for the Happy Easter wishes! Ohio is cool and wet this morning. We’re supposed to see some sun this afternoon.

We’re in the hotel on Long Island after the Los Lonely Boys concert last night. Great show. The rain passed through overnight and it is starting to clear up.

Jeff, we had rain yesterday and the grass was wet this morning. But the sun is trying to poke out of the clouds. I knew you and Jackie would have fun at the Los Lonely Boys concert!

Happy Easter! Because the twins are going back to school after church this morning (their spring break was last week, mine’s just starting), we had our big Easter dinner last night. The usual suspects: grilled lamb, creamed spinach, Yorkshire puddings, mashed potatoes, and gravy. During the night, the Easter Bunny made his appearance—leaving chocolate eggs & bunnies for all—including some sugar-free chocolates for moi!

Deb, Diane’s sister Carol is hosting the Easter feast for 15 of her family members. Salad, ham, scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole, and veggie pizza (for the vegans) are on the menu. Diane baked orange Madeleines and berry Madeleines for dessert. We also brought a Lemon Cake from Canada to share with the Ohioans. Of course, the Easter Bunny also brought chocolate in many forms: dark, milk, and orange chocolate! Have a Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to everybody from Hungary too!

Here near the Balaton Lake we have 22 – 24 Celsius (over 70 Fahrenheit) and lovely sunshine. My wife cooked/will cook my and our granddaughter’s favourites:
Lamb and later lasagne, of course accompanied by lots of salad. Then some cake with raspberries (frozen since last year) from our garden and for dinner we’ll have cheese pretzels …
I already told her to go easy on the portions – don’t want to reach 100 kg like many of our neighbours …
    Totally OT:
When I took my wife to the USA (several times, because she really enjoyed it) she remarked:
So many obese people – just like at home in Hungary, only the cars are much nicer and bigger!

Wolf, Happy Easter to you! We’re at 50 degrees Fahrenheit with plenty of clouds. The sun is supposed to make an appearance later today.

Happy Day to you and your family, George, sounds like you will have a wonderful day. Weather here is cool and cloudy with a chance of rain. We’re having pot roast, which I make in the Dutch oven, mashed potatoes and gravy, broccoli, green salad and for dessert, lemon bars. No chocolate eggs or such here, we’re being good.

Rick, your menu sounds delicious! We brought a couple bags of Mexican Jalapeño Peanut M&Ms which proved to be a big hit in Ohio.

Our Easter feast was the free (for us) brunch buffet at the Marriott – I had yogurt, oatmeal and a banana, a made-to-order omelet with ham, mushrooms, and cheddar, bacon and an English muffin, fresh fruit, orange juice, and coffee.

Wolf. the obesity epidemic in this country is getting worse all the time.

Jeff, I’ve always liked the brunch buffets at the Marriott’s we stayed at. We’re staying at the Mariott in Times Square next month.

This is the one with that glass elevator in the multi storey lobby, isn’t it?

I remember staying there on one of my first business trips in the mid 80s – what a fantastic experience NYC and especially Times Square was!

Made me return almost a dozen times – though it wasn’t cheap …
On my holiday trips of course I chose cheaper hotels, many of which have been torn down or modernised later – and became much more expensive, too expensive for me! 🙂

George, you and your wife enjoy your trip!
And the shows of course – though those are not my cup of tea, I only went to blues and rock concerts in the USA … 🙂

Wolf, two of the shows we’ll be seeing in NYC will be musicals: CHER and AIN’T TOO PROUD (the story of the Motown group, The Temptations).
