INDIANAPOLIS COLTS VS. BUFFALO BILLS

After the 6-6 Buffalo Bills predictably lost to the New England Patriots last Sunday, they lost more than the game. The Bills quarterback, Tyrod Taylor, suffered a contusion to his knee. It’s doubtful that Tyrod will play in today’s game. It he does play, Tyrod will be severely limited. And mobility is Tyrod’s chief asset. If the Bills start backup QB Nate Peterman, could Peterman repeat his five-interceptions in one half performance like in the LA Chargers game? The lowly Colts are only 3–9. The Bills are favored by 4 points, but this game could go either way. What’s going to happen to your favorite NFL team today?

What do you think? I doubt that firing the coach and GM and reinstalling Eli Manning as starting quarterback will change the Giants’ fortunes against the Cowboys today. This once marquee matchup has been switched from a 4:25 start to a lowly 1:00 because, well, who cares? Sad. I guess the only hope is for the cold weather to bother Dallas, but even though they are having a mediocre season, they are still way better than the Giants.

The now 9-4 Saints will not be playing today because they played the Falcons this past Thursday night, losing in a game that saw some questionable play-calling on the part of head coach Sean Payton (going for a touchdown on 4th & goal, rather than an almost-guaranteed field goal that would have tied the game with seconds left) and some equally-questionable officiating. The saving grace was we woke up on Friday morning to a rare-for-southern-Louisiana snow storm and everyone was so excited about it that discussion of the Saints’ loss to our arch-rival “Dirty Birds” was rather muted…and, because school had been cancelled, I spent the day finishing my Christmas decorations.

The Giants held the Cowboys to 10-10 for much of the game before blowing it at the end,

Glad to see the Bills hang on for the win.

Is it just me or are the officials running the games these days? Seemingly at will, they can nullify any long play, any nice run, any touchdown. More penalties are being called all the time.
