I bought this 3-DVD set in a Goodwill store for a dollar. I’m a sucker for spy novels and movies. This British TV show blends action and intelligence into an entertaining package. If you’re a fan of double-crosses, double-dealing, back-stabbing, and mis-direction, you’ll enjoy MI-5. This clandestine security service takes on all kinds of domestic terrorism and skullduggery. You can also find MI-5 on HULU. Check it out. GRADE: B+

Patti, our local PBS station occasionally broadcasts MI-5. If you like HOMELAND, you’ll like MI-5.
We’ve watched it all, start to finish! Terrific stuff, and some really good actors are in it along the way, but (SPOILER ALERT) don’t get too attached to anyone (other than Sir Harry), as they do tend to kill people off at times (END SPOILER). We bought the last three seasons (8-9-10) in England after they stopped showing it on PBS here (the original British title was SPOOKS). Some of the cast have gone on to other things, like David Oyelowo, Keeley Hawes (now in THE DURRELLS), Hermione Norris, and Richard Armitage (BERLIN STATION, most recently).
Matthew Macfadyen and Keeley Hawes (who was married at the time) got involved on the show, and were married in 2004,
Jeff, I intend to watch the whole series, too! The cast is solid and stories are compelling.

Have to track this down. Seen it somewhere before. Right now I’m bingeing on Godless on Netflix. It ,is a western starring Jeff Daniels. Just finished watching Dark, a German series Netflix picked up. And Dec 21 a new season of Peaky Blinders. Need this stuff due to all the Christmas crap and reruns.
Steve, we are in the holiday Dead Zone for the next month. Not much to watch on TV, but plenty of movies are coming out in the weeks ahead. I have my ticket for THE LAST JEDI!
