MIAMI DOLPHINS VS. BUFFALO BILLS

The Buffalo Bills slid to an icy win over the plucky Indianapolis Colts last Sunday amid blizzard conditions. But, this Sunday, the weather will just be cold–35 degrees–and sunny. The Miami Dolphins come to town after defeating the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. Right now, the Bills have a 25% chance of reaching the Playoffs. Although Vegas is making the Bills a 3-point favorite, this game could go either way. How is your favorite NFL team going to do today?

I think we all know the answer to that one: lose! The Giants have won TWO games this year (bizarrely, they were over Denver and Kansas City), and they are not going to beat the first place Eagles this afternoon.

Jeff, if the Bills lose today–a distinct possibility–I would hope they would lose their last two games–the Patriots on Christmas Eve and the Dolphins again on New Year’s Eve–to gain a better Draft Pick.

The 5-8 Jets meet the 9-4 Saints in the Superdome. I’d like to be complacent about a Saints victory, but injuries have hit them hard and they really struggled in their loss to the Falcons a week ago Thursday. I still haven’t done all my Christmas shopping, so I might take advantage of the usually-empty-during-Saints-games stores and do a little more Santa stuff this afternoon.

Deb, the NY Jets have had an up-and-down season. Many “experts” thought the Jets would “tank” and lose all their games in order to draft an elite QB. But, surprisingly (as the Bills found out on THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL), the Jets proved to be a feisty team who won some quality games against better teams. Hope the Saints can escape this game with a win! Happy shopping!

I agree, the Jets have surprised me over and over this year, though they didn’t win all the games they could have won with a few smarter decisions, fewer bonehead penalties, and better game management.

        Go, Saints!

The Seahawks have a decimated defense (5 players out to injury) and a weak O-line. The Rams have a high-powered offense. Not a good recipe for a win. I have holiday stuff to finish up, as I’m having eye surgery in a few days and will be out of action Thursday – Boxing Day, so I probably won’t be watching.

I hope Aaron Rogers return in Green Bay will be good, hope the (sorry, George) Patriots beat Pittsburgh, a team I dislike intensely. Otherwise I don’t much care today.

Rick, I hope the Packers haven’t rushed Aaron Rodgers back into action too soon. I’d hate to see Rodgers hurt again in a nearly meaningless game.

Isn’t Boxing Day the day after Christmas?

      Good luck with that.

I’m not home so I haven’t seen it, but apparently the Giants are ahead 20-7.

The Giants should have won this one. They got out to an early lead and moved the ball well, but they had an extra point, and a punt (which led to a touchdown the other way), AND a field goal blocked! They could have been down one instead of five, which would have enabled them to kick the winning field goal instead of having to go for the touchdown.

The Eagles defense was terrible today. Their tackling was awful.

Maggie, Aaron Rodgers looked and played like a QB that hadn’t been in an NFL game for a couple of months. The Packers should rest Rodgers the next couple of games. There’s no point exposing Rodgers to injury at this point of the season.
