MIAMI DOLPHINS VS. BUFFALO BILLS

Rumors abound that the Buffalo Bills will “rest” some of their starters. Miami needs to win this game in order to make the Playoffs. Dolphins’ back-up QB Ryan Fitzpatrick can’t play in this game because he’s on the Covid-19 List. The Bills are a 3-point favorite. Snow and freezing rain are in the game time forecast. The Dolphins’ starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, never played in snow in Hawaii or Alabama. How will your favorite NFL team do today?

Magic Eight Ball says “looks murky.”

All the Giants – a pathetic 5-10 – have to do today is:

    1. Beat the Cowboys in the Meadowlands at 1 in the rain
    2. Hope the Eagles beat Washington tonight in Philadelphia

    Then:

    3. They will win the NFC East despite a 6-10 record!

Is this likely? No. But the fact that it can happen, while an AFC team can be out of the playoffs at 11-5 is unbelievable. The odds favor Dallas or Washington winning.

    Go, Bills!

The 11-4 Saints travel to North Carolina to take on the 5-10 Panthers. The Saints, already NFC champions, could win the NFC outright today, if:

    1. They beat the Panthers; and

    2. The Bears beat the Packers; and

    3. The Seahawks beat the 49ers.

Yeah—kind of a long shot, made all the longer by the fact that both Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray are out because of covid protocols. I don’t think that either of them has covid, but both have apparently been around people who have. If the Saints don’t win the NFC outright, they will play a Wild Card game next week and will also have to play that game sans Kamara, Murray, and God knows who else!

Jeff, anything can happen in Green Bay if the Packers are “resting” their players…especially Aaron Rodgers.

Deb, one of the Bills’ tight ends is in Covid-19 protocols and won’t be playing in the Dolphin game this weekend or in next weekend’s Playoff Game. The coronavirus is the Wild Card in this year’s Playoff games. Who knows who will text positive next?

Not having a local NFL team worth paying attention to, I don’t watch much pro football until the college bowl games and CFP are almost over. Then I can get into the NFL playoffs and watch what are generally some of the year’s best games. So I’ll be watching next weekend. Jeff, I salute you for sticking with the woeful Giants. You’d make a great Falcons fan.

Michael, I’ll be watching Steve Kornacki on NBC’s SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL tonight to see what the Playoff matchups will be next weekend.

I lost interest in football when the “team that used to be here, or the judas’s” (to quote my favorite local columnist) left. I still root for the packers, saints, and now chiefs (also the bills in support of george)

I’ll sometimes tune in just to see scores, and maybe the end of some games. No more all day sunday viewing

Maggie, the Buffalo Bills have been so inept for so many years that 2020 seems like a dream to Bills fans. Like you, I like the Packers and the Saints. Many Bills fans are hoping for a Bills vs. Chiefs AFC Championship game.

Well, George, it looks like the Bills and the Ravens are two of the hottest teams heading into the postseason. Impressive wins by both. Hope it continues next week.
