The Kansas City Chiefs are favored by 5 and 1/2 points over the Indianapolis Colts. But, the Colts with Andrew Luck have proven to be a dangerous team. This game could go either way. I like both the Chiefs with incredible rookie QB Patrick Mahomes and the Colts with former Buffalo Bills QB Frank Reich as Head Coach. I’ll be rooting for both teams.
The LA Rams are favored by 7 points over the Dallas Cowboys. I’ve heard “experts” on ESPN make the case that the Cowboys could defeat the Rams, but I think they just drank the Kool-Aide. I’m going with the Rams in this one. Which teams will you be cheering for?

Wolf, the center of the U.S. is getting a foot of snow. Western NY got a foot of snow in the snow belt areas–where the ski resorts love it!–but Buffalo and points north only found a couple of inches of the white stuff on the ground this morning. But it is cold: 13 degrees with a windchill of -2.

There is a nice formula for changing F into C and vice versa – much easier to use than the official calculation starting at 32 F = 0 C. Do you know it? 🙂
Wolf, when I want Celsius temperatures, I just listen to Canadian Radio. The CBC reports their weather temperatures in C!
I’m viewing everything through the prism of which team I’d least want the Saints to have to face in a future game (be it divisional or Super Bowl in nature)—so I’m rooting for the Colts and the Rams. Because of his history with Dallas, Saints coach Sean Payton always overthinks his strategy when playing the Cowboys, so I definitely would like the Cowboys eliminated today. And I’m afraid the Chiefs with young QB Mahomes are like a self-fulfilling Super Bowl champions prophesy. Only time will tell, but today’s games will be exciting—and tomorrow’s games even more so.
Deb, we have plenty of SKINNY POP popcorn ready ready for tonight’s games. Some ESPN “experts” claim both the Colts and the Chiefs will have to put up 35+ points each to win that game. The Rams are tanned and rested. I’m hoping they take care of the Cowboys in impressive fashion.

Wolf is right. There is snow from Kansas City to St. Louis and moving East. Fortunately for us, when it arrives on the East Coast tonight, it will be mostly to the South of New York. Plus, the cold air (currently 21 with a wind chill of 14) is so dry that even if there is a little snow overnight, it probably won’t reach the ground here.
Unfortunately, I have a physical therapy appointment this afternoon so I have to go out, but they say the winds will be dying down by then.
Jeff, it’s not windy in Western NY, but it sure is cold! The Colts are a dome team so a foot of fresh snow might affect them more than the Chiefs. Good luck at PT! No pain, no gain!
I do hope the Cowboys get beat, because I don’t much care for them. I expect KC to win, so good, and I think the Rams will win, but it might be tough. Me? I’ll be pulling for neither. With the Seahawks loss, I’m pretty much done with the playoffs, or maybe it’s just that my TBR shelf is groaning and I feel the urge to read one of those books.
That Skinny Pop stuff sounds awful. I’m not much of a popcorn fan (that would be Barbara), but without butter and salt, how can there be any flavor at all?
Rick, for a pre-popped product, SKINNY POP tastes pretty good. And, BJ’s Warehouse always has it on sale with a coupon. Diane prefers the box with 24 small bags of popcorn (portion control) while I prefer the big Bag. Either way, it’s a low-carb, tasty snack during football games.
Barbara likes Redenbacher microwave popcorn.
Rick, we used to buy a case of REDENBACHER microwave popcorn at BJ’s Warehouse. It was about $5 for 24 bags. Insanely inexpensive! But now we’re prone to eating the pre-popped SKINNY POP instead.
My wife also likes the microwave popcorn made here in Hungary.
Hungary is a large producer of corn. One of neighbours told us proudly that he feeds his pigs mainly corn – when we bought some freshly slaughtered pork from him …
