Yes, I like ducks! Rubber ducks are fine for the kiddies! My wife owned ducks many years ago and my stepson has raised them for market recently! In the Spring, I like to visit the duck pond at Point Defiance Park (about 2 miles away) and see the baby ducklings swim around! And then there’s Donald, Daffy, Yakkie Quackie, Duck Rogers, and all the other cartoon birds!
Bob, we have a few ducks floating around in the Erie Canal (about 100 yards from out house) but we have an awful flock of geese that cross our busy roads and hold up traffic daily.
I hope you and Diane displayed that world-renown Buffalo spirit of friendliness by inviting it in for tea and cookies.
Jerry, we have 12 foot ceilings, but that’s not enough for a 61 foot duck!
So…New York City has Taylor’s wedding, the tall ships parade, the Macy’s fireworks show and the World Cup, and Buffalo has…a giant rubber duck?
OK.
Next time, they should get the inflatable Baby Trump.
But yes, I do like real ducks. In Florida we walk around the pond near Cheesecake Factory and check out the ducks on the water.
Jeff, Diane can’t wait to see pictures of Taylor’s wedding dress! Inflatable Baby Trumps have shown up for several local protest rallies lately.
Tangentially related, but I strongly recommend this very interesting book about tracking thousands of rubber ducks that went overboard when their container fell off a freight ship in bad weather. Informative and fun:

Deb, don’t worry. I wouldn’t duck your link!
George, my apology. I hadn’t realized (as I read it too quickly) that the duck was THAT BIG. We saw a big one once and a Baby Trump, but neither was close to six stories tall.
That’s a big duck!
Jeff, yes, those are real ships in that photo with the duck. Big ships, but not 61 feet high!
I learned about rubber ducks during a jeep rally event in sieverville TN. There were hundreds of not thousands of jeeps all over. We were on a pink jeep tour and since we’d noticed rubber ducks on the dashboard of nearly all of the jeeps, I asked about it and was told it’s a tradition to give a duck to others. Our tour guide gave me one & I also got one from a family I met at a restaurant stop. I haven’t put my ducks on my Subaru dashboard
Maggie, you would be hard pressed to fit a 61 foot duck on your Subaru!
