FUGITIVE TELEMETRY: THE MURDEBOT DIARIES #6 By Martha Wells

I’m a fan of Martha Wells’ Murderbot series about a SECURITY UNIT robot who hacks his governor module and goes rogue. The books are all narrated by the snarky SecUnit as it tries to take advantage of being freed from the software shackles of corporations.

In Fugitive Telemetry (2021), SecUnit investigates a murder on a space station. The murder leads SecUnit to discover the space station software was hacked and death could be around the corner. I’m always fond of SF novels with mysteries in them and Fugitive Telemetry had me guessing right up to the end. GRADE: A-

If you’d like to read my reviews of the previous five books in the series, just clink here, here, here, here, and here. Highly recommended!

I liked the ones I’ve read and need to catch up with the others.

Deb would say that she saw Fugitive Telemetry open for Bowie.

Haven’t read any by her — a situation I should correct.

Jeff, Fugitive Telemetry may have opened for Bowie. They did, however, refuse to play at Trump’s inaugural.

I read the first couple and enjoyed them but have not got around to the rest. I probably will. Like Rick said-just too many books.

I’m woefully behind with new material beyond what I read in the new issues of the various fiction magazines. And the few other which publish fiction (HARPER’S, THE NEW YORKER, AMERICAN SCHOLAR…BUST…) I still need to dip more into my newish annuals.

Todd, it’s hard to keep up with periodicals. I read three newspapers per day and access a few more online. Sometimes, it’s overwhelming!
