I wouldn’t say they’re useless – just imagine Britain had a president like Donald …

Wht’s a much bigger problem imho is that Britain is still a class society, there are a few families who are immensely rich. London e g belongs to them – you can build or buy a house but you can only rent the ground …
Anyway those Princes are well behaved – that he married a mixed race girl (even divorced) is a good sign.
Remember that not too long ago a British king resigned because he loved a divirced American woman …

    But in any case:
To all mothers a Happy Mothers’ Day!

We just got back from seeing AVENGERS: ENDGAME.

Very little rain in The Big Easy today. I think the worst is behind us.

Jeff, what did you think of ENDGAME? We saw THE CHER SHOW. Then we went to dinner at ORSO and Glenda Jackson sat two tables away!

I’m not antipathetic to the royals, I just don’t give a flying fuck about a bunch of inbred Eurotrash!

        Deb says:

Happy Mother’s Day to Diane and all the other mothers out there. Today will be a low-key day for us. John is going to make chicken wings (my favorite). Last night, we went to the casino buffet with Jeff & Jackie Meyerson (thanks again, guys!), along with two of our daughters and one daughter’s boyfriend. A great time was had by all—even when a power blip (just as I was cashing out my video poker winnings) required us to wait some time before the machine came back on-line.

One thing I really liked about the picture above was Megan’s refusal to wear a corset or some other “slimming” device. Her stomach is still swollen, which is perfectly normal for a new mother. (A week after I had the twins, I had to have an X-ray on my knee. The technician almost refused to let me have it done, he was so convinced I was pregnant!)

Inbreeding was worse among European aristocrats in the 19th and 20th Century – did you lnow about all the offspring of Queen Victoria which inherited the genes for hemophilia?
And then they started WW1 – though all the kings and emperors were related – could have called that a horrible family feud which cost millions of lifes!
