JUSTICE LEAGUE

Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) is the best part of Justice League. An alien threat to Earth forces Batman/Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) to recruit more help to fight the invaders. Besides Wonder Woman, Bruce Wayne manages to recruit the Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher). This is a far cry from The Avengers. Oodles of money was spent on Justice League while the results are so-so. Aquaman is mostly wasted. So is Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Jeremy Irons as Alfred. There are a lot of missed chances in this movie that could have made it rival some of the better MARVEL movies. If you’re in the mood for a middling super-hero movie, you’ll find a little entertainment watching Justice League. GRADE: B-

Maybe if I just want an excuse to get out of the house. Am going this weekend to see 3 Billboards. Saw Killing of a Sacred Deer last week and hated it.

Our paper’s review said wonder woman was the best part and compared the flash very unfavorably to the TV version. I’m probably going to see Orient Express next week, and maybe Thor (wish he hadn’t cut his hair)

Maggie, Wonder Woman lights up the screen and steals every scene she’s in. I wish there were more scenes of Gal Gadot in JUSTICE LEAGUE. MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS might be an option when it gets to the cheap show.

I’ll never understand that grown people watch these “superhuman beings movies”! We saw Guardians of the Galaxy for a few minutes and then my wife laughed hysterically and switched it off!

Btw she just watched season 7 of GOT (it’s available now in Hungarian) and was very happy – enough blood and sex for her … 🙂

And we watched the first episode of Westworld – but didn’t really enjoy it, don’t know why. Tomorrow we’ll look at the next episodes.

    PS:
In case you forgot, my wife is a big SF&Fantasy fan (I’m more for SF) – that was one of the big surprises when we were introduced and found out that we had so many things in common …

Wolf, I enjoy superhero movies when I’m in the mood. I remember reading WESTWORLD and thinking: “This would make a great series.” And then, years later, it happened. The music in the WESTWORLD series has a fanatical following.

Just saw Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri. Loved it. Probably my favorite movie this year. I didn’t care for Victoria and Abdul. I just have little interest in Queen Victoria, although the movie looked good. I found Westworld got better as it went along. LBJ has no interest for me. Rob Reiner had a good start as a director but hasn’t done a good movie in years.

Locus online has given it a pretty decent review. For those who are interested the final season of Longmire is now up at Netflix.
