TIME-WARNER ENHANCED DVR

Diane and I upgraded to the new Time-Warner Enhanced DVR. Our old DVR would only record two TV programs at the same time. This Enhanced DVR allows you to record up to six TV programs at the same time. And, this new Enhanced DVR gives us the ability to save 150 hours of high-definition programming on its 1-terabyte (1,000 gigabytes) hard drive. You never know when you’re going to have to record over a 100 hours of Good Stuff! Of course, this all comes at a price: $3 a month. We think it’s worth it.

I agree. It is definitely worth it. We had upgraded too because two shows is not enough, but since we switched from Time Warner to Verizon Fios (which I would highly recommend to anyone where it’s available) we went up to a TWELVE program/ 500 hour DVR! When we got back from Florida we had seven series we’d recorded while we were away plus a bunch of movies and the DVR was only 9% full! Since we’re recording 4-5 shows on Sunday nights at 10 the old one just wasn’t cutting it.

You definitely made the right choice.

Jeff, you’re right! Those old DVRs can’t record enough programs. Last night, Diane recorded WOLF HALL, MAD MEN, and BATTLE CREEK at the same time. We could not have done that with the old DVR.

One more at 10 on Sunday that Jackie likes (I’m not sure about it): AMERICAN ODYSSEY.

I looked up that package on Comcast here. It’s $27 over the regular DVR rate of $23. Yep, $50 total. It’s a good thing we watch so little TV, we couldn’t afford the DVR to record the stuff!

Bob, Diane records old TV programs so her mother can watch them: GOLDEN GIRLS, THAT GIRL, THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW, etc.
